10/5/2007  Image Associates to represent WVU Center for End of Life Care

Image Associates has entered into a contract with the West Virginia University Center for End of Life Care to provide public relations representation. The contract took effect on Oct. 5, 2007.

The Center for End of Life care was entertaining offers from agencies around the state to provide PR counsel and improve West Virginians' general knowledge of the services they provide. The center provides information and forms for advance directives aimed at ensuring that those who are expected to pass have their wishes honored by physicians and medical care providers.

"Securing this account is a wonderful opportunity for Image Associates," said Image Associates Public Relations Representative Michael A. Lucas. "With our extensive experience in public awareness campaigns and the spectacular service offered by WVCEOLC, we are confident that we can grow the program's recognition in West Virginia extensively."

10/5/2007  I.A. Director featured in Markee magazine

Image Associates Director William F. Hogan will be featured in an upcoming issue of Markee magazine, a trade publication aimed at reaching executives in the film industry.

"I am honored to be chosen as one of the subjects for an issue of Markee," said Hogan. "Opportunities to show the nation what we can do in the West Virginia film industry are rare, and when one arises, we have to take advantage."

Hogan's decades of experience in the film industry and his wide array of both shooting projects and clients are the focus of the piece, according to writers at Markee.

3/14/2007  Image Associates Helps Design New CompareCare Web Site

Image Associates was part of a special creative team assembled by health consultant Mary Angel to develop a new website for the West Virginia Health Care Authority (WVHCA). The new website, www.comparecarewv.gov, provides a central source where consumers can compare services and the comparable costs for those services at all West Virginia hospitals.

Users can search the website by procedure or location and receive a chart that lists all relevant facilities that offer specific treatments within a specifically chosen distance from a consumers home zip code.

Angel noted that consumers without health insurance now have a resource available that could help them find the most cost effective treatment available. The site also contains resources for discovering other general health care information.

The project, a collaborative effort between the WVHCA IT department and Image Associates, began in October and went live on January 31, 2007.

The site is a .NET site on Microsoft Servers and is hosted by the WVHCA. Image Associates interpreted Angels designs and coded them for browser display using xhtml and css. Image Associates also assisted WVHCA with back end programming in the .NET environment by providing a link between the front-end design and the database used to drive the content.

3/14/2007  New River Community College Selects Image Associates

When Beckley-based New River Community and Technical College decided that the school needed professional help to help it raise its public profile, West Virginias newest independently accredited higher education institution selected Image Associates to develop a marketing strategy.

The West Virginia Legislature created New River Community and Technical College in 2003 by combing one community and technical college component of Bluefield State with another from Glenville State. New River currently operates campuses in Beckley, Bluefield, Lewisburg and Summersville but suffered from an identity crisis because those four-year baccalaureate institutions previously operated its campuses.

Image Associates was asked by the college to provide immediate help in several key areas. During the first 45 days after signing an agency of record contract, Image Associates worked closely with New River officials to develop a short-term marketing plan which included launching the colleges first advertising campaign geared toward recruiting students, redesigning the college logo and corporate identity package, publishing an Annual Report, creating a multi-purpose descriptive brochure, staging press conferences, writing press releases, planning media tours and providing ongoing public relations counsel.

We couldnt be more pleased with our relationship with Image Associates, said Libby Belcher, assistant to New River President Ted. D. Spring. They were able to assess our needs quickly, meet impossible deadlines and deliver products and services in an enthusiastic and professional manner. We are looking forward to a long and rewarding relationship.

9/6/2006  Insurance Commission Office Pleased

Staff members of the Office of the West Virginia Insurance Commissioner were pleased with the reception their exhibit received at the 2006 West Virginia State Fair.

Staff members unveiled three new pull-up display banners, a scrolling banner and nine new agency brochures designed by Image Associates art director Sharon Harms.

Our new display looked gorgeous and was definitely a hit at the State Fair, said Communications Specialist Jason Butcher. We even had other exhibitors ask where we had our display designed. It was beautiful.

Image Associates designed three pull-up banners that were used as a backdrop for the display booth. The pull-up displays were full color and can be used together as a set or displayed separately.

The lightweight banners roll up in a solid base unit that makes set up and take down a snap. Each unit weighs less than five pounds and the combo banners are easily transported and stored.

Full color agency brochures were designed to complement the pull-up displays and were prominently displayed on a specially designed table cover.

The full color scrolling banner displayed interesting facts about the office and its mission and completed a rotation every 60 seconds. Scrolling banners can be set to scroll in either direction. Scrolling banners require exhibitors to have access to electrical power at the display booth location.

9/6/2006  Massey Energy Shoot Completed

IA Productions produced four new 30-second television commercials for Massey Energy that began airing statewide in early August

Bill Hogan wrote the scripts, directed the action and completed post-production in the new Image Associates Final Cut Pro HD editing suite

Utilizing a Sony Cinealta High Definition camera, the television commercials highlighted the economic contributions made by West Virginias largest coal producer and featured a crew of 12

While most of the shoot occurred above ground, one of the most dramatic visuals occurred when the IA Productions crew went underground to shoot Massey Energy miners boarding a man-trip.

IA Production crewmembers were required to undergo specific mine safety training before being allowed to enter the deep mine.

6/6/2006  IA Productions Becomes First To Offer High Definition Production & Editing Capabilities

IA Productions, a subsidiary of Image Associates, LLC, has become West Virginias first video production company with high definition (HD) production and editing capabilities, according to Managing Member Bill Hogan.

Critics once said that the Charleston market was too small to support a high definition post-production company, said Hogan. With this upgrade, West Virginians are no longer forced to leave the state to both future-proof and obtain top quality for their work. We can provide traditional clients, television stations and cable channels with content that is HD ready.

Image Associates decided to upgrade the companys post-production capabilities as part of its move into a new suite of offices. The company moved into the recently completed Fifth Third Center on Virginia Street.

The move allowed Image Associates to offer clients a choice of two new customer-friendly edit suites. Each suite has been soundproofed and individually climate controlled. A new Final Cut Pro HD online studio has been completed to complement an upgraded AVID offline suite. Both suites feature in-house Animation and Effects with FCP Motion, After Effects, Particle Illusion and Carrera Studio.

The Final Cut Pro nonlinear editing system utilizes a Power Mac Quad G5 computer to run the Apple Final Cut Pro Studio which features Final Cut Pro HD, DVD Studio Pro, Motion, and Soundtrack.

The new editing system allows us to edit standard definition uncompressed as well as DVC Pro HD high definition video at up to 720p or 1080i, said Hogan who noted that all television stations are required to begin broadcasting in high definition in 2009.

3/22/2006  Scribner's Chocolates Identity Package

Sometimes a company will need a complete identity package, to help them get 'up and running' to best advantage. Sharon Harms was able to deliver just such a kickstart to Scribner's Chocolates, developing a new package design and company image for this unique gourmet chocolate company located in Charleston. The company sells completely nut-free, handmade gourmet chocolates, and now has a package that looks as good as the chocolate it contains!
